Accessibility statement

The National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) (hereinafter: the Library) is committed to making its websites and software solutions accessible in accordance with the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Software Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies in the Republic of Croatia (Official Gazette, No. 17/19 (Zakon o pristupačnosti mrežnih stranica i programskih rješenja za pokretne uređaje tijela javnog sektora, Narodne novine, 17/19), hereinafter: the Act), which transposes the Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (OJ L 327, 2.12.2016, p. 1; hereinafter: the Directive).

This accessibility statement applies to the Library’s website available at the web address https://letsgogreen.nsk.hr/.

Compliance status

The website letsgogreen.nsk.hr is partially compliant with the Act due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

(a) non-compliances with the Act

· Contrast on some pages is not satisfactory and its easy adjustment on the part of the user is not possible.

· Font size is not satisfactory and its easy adjustment on the part of the user is not possible.

· The anchor text of some hyperlinks should be more specific in describing the content of the link’s destination.

· Alternative display for textual and visual content which has not been adjusted for blind and visually impaired persons prior to its publication on the website is not available.

· Some images do not include the alt attribute.

· Some images do not include a short text describing their content.

(b) disproportionate burden

For non-compliances specified in subsection (a), the Library invokes the disproportionate burden exemption in compliance with Article 8 of the Act.

(c) the content is not within the scope of the applicable legislation

In compliance with Article 3 of the Act, the Act’s provisions do not apply to office file formats published before 23 September 2018 whose content is not needed for active processes relating to the tasks performed by the Library.

In compliance with Article 3 of the Act, the Act’s provisions do not apply to pre-recorded time-based media – such as audio-only, video-only, audio-video, audio and/or video combined with interaction – published before 23 September 2020.

In compliance with Article 3 of the Act, the Act’s provisions do not apply to third-party content that is neither funded nor developed by the Library.

In compliance with Article 3 of the Act, the Act’s provisions do not apply to the reproductions of privately or publicly owned items of historical, artistic, archaeological, aesthetic, scientific or technical significance held by cultural institutions that cannot be made fully accessible due to the accessibility requirements being incompatible with either the standards required for the preservation of these items or with the reproductions’ authenticity.

In compliance with Article 3 of the Act, the Act’s provisions do not apply to the content of this website and related software solutions for mobile devices qualifying as archived content, which qualification pertains to the content that has neither been needed for the Library’s active administrative processes nor updated/edited since 23 September 2019.

In compliance with Article 3 of the Act, the Act’s provisions do not apply to the content of this website published before 23 September 2019, intended for only a closed circle of people and therefore purposefully unavailable to the general public, for as long as the Library does not make substantial revisions to such content.
