Accessible conference guidelines
To ensure that our conference is accessible to everyone, we have created an Accessible Conference Guide that provides valuable information on how to design and deliver presentations that are inclusive and accommodating. This guide contains all the necessary information you need to make your presentation accessible to the widest possible audience.
In order to create effective and engaging presentations, we kindly ask that all presenters keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Limit the amount of text on each slide to ensure that your audience can easily follow along.
- Ensure that any text or important visuals are large enough to be read from the back of the room.
- Use a clear, easy-to-read font face that is legible for all attendees.
- Choose colors that have sufficient contrast to ensure that all attendees can easily distinguish between different elements of your presentation.
- Consider using motion or animations to make your presentation more dynamic and engaging.
- Make all provided materials accessible and consider the needs of attendees with disabilities.
- Provide descriptions for all relevant visual information to ensure that all attendees can follow along.
- Speak clearly and use simple language to help all attendees understand your message.
- Allow sufficient time for attendees to process information before moving on to the next topic.
- Ensure that you are visible to all attendees throughout your presentation.
- Use a microphone to ensure that all attendees can hear you clearly.
- Limit distractions in your presentation to keep your audience focused.
- Keep to the time limit allocated for your presentation to ensure a smooth and efficient conference schedule.
We hope that these guidelines will help you to create an engaging and successful presentation for all attendees.
